Standard III: Use information ethically and legally
Standard III
focuses on using information ethically and
legally to complete a task. Student outcomes center around learning
processes to follow laws and regulations related to the access and use of
information resources and ways to acknowledge sources in communication of
the end product.
There are many ethical and legal questions related to the
use of information and information technology. Students must be able
to answer these questions:
Can I make a copy of this material?
Are these quotes supportive of my ideas?
How should I cite the sources I use?
The modules below focus on
providing direction in answering those questions.
